GORDON, George Grahame

On Saturday, July 25, 2009, George passed away peacefully
in his sleep in his 82nd year. Dear husband of Beverley and the late Arlene. Father of Grahame Gordon and his wife Tasia and Margaret Bernardi and her late husband Louis. Loving Grandfather of Hilary, Heather and Gillian. Brother of the late Walter Gordon and his wife Dorothy; the late Margaret Smith and her husband Neil; Alex Gordon and his wife Edith, the late Mary Clough and her late husband Lew; the late Jim Gordon and his wife Helen; and Don Gordon and his wife Katherine. George will be remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States and cousins in Scotland and England and by Beverley's family the Bakers; Joanne, Andrea, Karen and their families in the Collingwood area. George began his teaching career in Inglewood and held principalships in Vaughan Township and Oakville before moving to Sault Ste. Marie where he served as Superintendent of Schools and Director of Education until his retirement in 1986. He has been an enthusiastic summer resident of Caribou Lake since 1969. Cremation Centre on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, July 30 at 12 noon. Rev.Laurie Milito officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
