(February 13, 1935) – It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father José Gomes peacefully in his sleep at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side. He is now reunited with the love of his life Lisdalia who passed away 5 months earlier. They were happily married for 55 years. José was in his 81st year. Loving father of José M. Gomes (Suzette), Virgilio Gomes (Marianne), Lena Krysa (Rob), Lisa Robillard (Glen). Grandfather of Jenny (Petri), Terrence (Katie), Brandon (Jessica), Emily, Sarah, Ella and Bailey. Son of the late João Gomes and Maria dos Angos. Brother of Virgilio Gomes (Maria Antonia), Francisco Gomes (Odette), Francellina dos Angos Gomes and the late brother Alexandre Gomes (Chantalle). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Portugal, France and USA. “Joe” will be fondly remembered by his many friends here and overseas. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday July 26, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:30 with a service to follow in the chapel at 12 pm. Rev. Paul Conway officiating.
