GODIN, GARY

Posted

GODIN(December 5, 1950—October 14, 2010) It is with great sadness that we announce that our little brother Gary passed away at the Sault Area Hospital (General Site) after a long, hard struggle with life and a short, valiant battle with cancer. Gary will finally be in heaven with Mom and Dad, (Ralph & Emma Godin) and oldest sister Claudette Particelli. Left to mourn, are sisters Suzanne Chiasson (David), Carol Grandbois (Gerry) and brother Bob, along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, corner of Cathcart and St. James Sts., on Monday, October 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Service in the chapel at 8 p.m. with Rev. J. P. Couillard officiating. In Gary’s memory, it would be wonderful if you could help one person in need. A kind word, a simple gesture showing respect and acknowledging those who are broken, wounded and forgotten just might make them feel a little less invisible. Gary spent many years in hospitals and the family wishes to thank everyone who showed him kindness, care and compassion. We would particularly like to thank Jean-Paul Dubreuil, Raymond Dubreuil, Raoul Thibodeau and Michele Vallieres who went out of their way to make Gary’s final year a better one; and to the CAP team of North Bay (Barb, Graham & Sandy). All of you were angels in his path who truly made a difference in his life. Gary you had broken wings on earth, now you will finally be able to fly, laugh and enjoy your heavenly life! You so loved the planets, your books about planets, your 70s rock music and C D s, your shortwave radios and boom boxes, your watches, your “fancy” colourful shirts and pants, your cowboy boots and hat! We will think of you every time we hear Pink Floyd, see a starry sky or view a beautiful sunset that is as colourful as you were! We will always love, remember, and miss you Gary, but we know you are now at peace at last, from Suzanne, Carol and Bob. Donations to the Canadian Mental Health would be appreciated.
