It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marilyn Joyce Genetti (nee Draper) at the Palliative Care Unit of the Plummer Hospital on April 5 2009 at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of Frank Genetti for 50 years. Cherished mother of Michael and Marnie. Daughter of the late John and Margaret Draper. Loving sister of the late Melba Holliday (Bud) and the late Jack Draper (Anne). Sister-in-law to Joyce and John Yurich, and the late Barbara Suriano. Special Aunt of Sally and Ernie Martinez of California, Marilyn Florent (Gerry) and Ricky Holliday. Lifelong best friend of Rhelda Pitt. Marilyn will be fondly remembered for her humour and gracious spirit by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses in palliative care at the Plummer. In respecting Marilyn's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
When we are born into this world
We do not choose the family we are given,
only the friends we yearn to keep.
Throughout my life there have been many,
Some fleeting, some steadfast who stood,
Not by me but with me, through thick and thin.
I cannot name you all, but you know who you are, and I cherish my place in your life. You have unselfishly given me both your presence and your time. I can only hope that through our journeys together, I did not fail to return the favour.
I will see you all again one day.
