GARDI, Francesco 'Frank' - (March 28, 1931 - July 11, 2010) On a beautiful Sunday morning Frank passed away suddenly, but peacefully while working in his garden doing what he loved best. Frank was born in Figline Vegliaturo, Italy. Frank will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Ida, his daughters Millie Ruffolo (Dominic), Anna Fata, Linda Barone (Tony) and also his step-children; John Benson, Wayne Benson and Jennifer Benson (Ted). Much loved Nonno to Ada Marie, Dominic Jr., Victor, Matthew, Jordan, Justin and Nathan and Poppa to Khelsey and David Benson. Pre-deceased by his first wife Ada (1980), his parents Salvatore and Emelia Gardi and his brothers Gino and Mario. Dear brother-in-law of Richard Larocque (Judy), Robert Larocque (late Irene), and the late George (Leona). Frank will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel 11 a.m. with Reverend Norman Fortier officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to Heart & Stroke of Ontario, Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Care Fund and Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. The Gardi family would like to thank “Rita and her girls” at the Renal Unit for their excellent care of Frank, as well as, the kindness shown by Drs. Berry, Armstrong, Shafee and Dr. Sam Fratesi.
