FRANKS, Miss Ruby Elizabeth "Frankie"

At Algoma Manor, Thessalon on Friday May 19, 2006. Ruby Franks was born in Rainy River, Ontario on September 23, 1909, daughter of the late Basil and Edna Franks. She was the second oldest in a family of twelve and is survived by one sister, Doris Boyce of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews. Ruby entered nurses training at Misericordia Hospital, Winnipeg in 1929, graduating in 1932. She joined the Red Cross Society in 1934 and was transferred to Thessalon as nurse-in-charge at the local hospital where she remained until her retirement in 1974. She was active in several different organizations such as President of the Senior Citizen's Club, a member of the Rebeckah Lodge, the local bridge club, the UCW and president of the Algoma Manor resident's council. Visitation at Algoma Manor on Tuesday May 23, 2006 from 1:15 until time of service at 2pm. Cremation. Donations to the Algoma Manor Redevelopment Fund gratefully accepted.

Members of the Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge are requested to assemble at Algoma Manor on Tuesday, May 23 at 1pm for a memorial service for their late sister Ruby Franks.
