FOSTER, Enid Gayle (nee Morrison)

Died peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2007 at Sault Area Hospital, in her 81st year. She was the beloved wife of Frank Foster for 53 years. Frank predeceased her in December 2000. Enid was the cherished mother of Terry Foster of Elliot Lake and Ellen Stuetz of Sault Ste. Marie. Always in her heart was her late son Edward who passed away in July 1975 at the age of 20. She was the fun-loving Grandma “Koo-Koo” of Andrew and Amelia Stuetz, much-loved mother-in-law of Dianna Foster and Bernie Stuetz and was part of a large and loving extended family. Enid is survived by her cherished sister Evelyn Bell, wife of the late Gilbert “Bill” Bell of Toronto. She was sadly predeceased by her brothers Maitland “Bud” and Harvey Morrison. Enid was the daughter of the late Harvey Maitland Morrison and Eva Elizabeth See. She will be remembered by a small circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.At the age of 16, Enid accepted a special invitation to join the Bell Telephone Company, where she worked for almost 20 years, moving from switchboard operator to supervisor to being an instrumental figure in the installation of the direct dial service between Sault Ste. Marie and Blind River. Enid will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, love of life and strong beliefs. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1st from 11:00am until time of service in the chapel at 1:00pm. Reverend Phil Miller officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in Enid’s memory may be directed to the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie.
