It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father and husband after a truly courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Russ leaves behind his dear wife Mary Frances Floyd. Loving father of Debbie (Todd), Bill (Wanda), Dan (Monique). Step-father of Diane (Albert), Lori (Randy), and John. Dear brother of Norma Findlay (Bill), Irma Young (George), Bill Garden and the late Jack Garden. Russ will be missed greatly by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his closest friends Ed Anderson and Glen Patryluk as well as all friends from the Royal Canadian Legion and the Moose Lodge. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road) on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Frances Glover officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Keith and all the Cancer Care Nurses, Staff and Volunteers, also to Dr. Buehner, GHC 2nd floor nurses Tina, Tammy and Pam, Bayshore nursing staff and We Care Services home support workers for all their kindness, compassion and extraordinary care.
