October 27, 1939 – January 23, 2021

With broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jim Fleming at ARCH on January 23rd, 2021, at age 81. Beloved husband and lifelong love of Debbie (Beith) for the past 50 years. Much loved father of Marty, Rhonda Dillabough (Kirk), and Ryan (Rachel). Jim was a proud and loving grampa to Callie, Grifin, Aaliyah, Ember, Grey, Michelle, David, and the late Derek. Son of the late Rita and Dave Fleming and dear brother of Betty MacLeod (Lyall), Donna Weatherston (Iain), and the Late Eddy. Brother-in-Law to the late David Beith (Brenda), Wendy Cripps (John Halcrow), Fred Beith (late June), Cindy Bowser (Keith), Jim Beith, and Barb Armstrong. Jim will also be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and Agate Sand Acres camp family.

Jim had a generous heart, a great sense of humour, a contagious laugh, and a love for story telling. His greatest joy came when he had his family together at camp playing guitar, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying a nice cold beer!

Jim faced many health challenges over years, but his strength, humour, and love of life always shone through on the other side. We are sure the doctors and nurses along the way will remember the jokes he played on them during his many surgeries and treatments. Even in the face of adversity, he put a smile on the faces of many and he continued to enjoy the many extra years he was blessed with. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff on 3B at the Sault Area Hospital and also at ARCH. Thank you for your care and compassion during a difficult time. We would also like to thank the many family and friends who have supported our family in so many ways over the past several months.

Due to current restrictions, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation (payable online or by cheque) to ARCH or Tracy’s Dream would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
