During a dismounted security patrol near the town of Nakhonay in the Panjwai District, Southwest of Kandahar City, Afghanistan on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the age of 44. Beloved son of Donna and Dan Crosson and the late Wayne Faught (Joan Parizeau). Brother of Shawna Faught of Toronto. Stepbrother of Chad Crosson, Craig Crosson (Mardi) and Joanne Brock (Bob). Dear uncle of Jasmine Faught-Lewis of Toronto, Jesse and Kalem Crosson, Makenzie Crosson, Holden, Greyden and Olivia Brock. Godfather of Lindsay Moody of Thunder Bay. Grandson of Sylvia Ross (Ron) and the late John Fasenello, the late Clara Hampel (nee Faught) and the late Ken Faught, Dorothy and Fred Cowen. Great grandson of the late Connie Fasenello. Nephew of Larry and Lois Faught of Batchewana Bay, Ron and Lori Faught, late Marilyn Evans, late Robert Faught (Marie), late Ricky Faught (Pat), Judy Nickliss of Pennsylvania, Lyle Cowen (Marion), Shirley Hale (Ron), Doug Cowen (Grace), John Cowen (Maxine) and Heather Cowen. Great nephew of Loretta Delonghi, late Joseph Fasenello (late Betty), late Ezio Fasenello, late Howard Fasenello (Betty), late Irene Derrow (late Bob), late Mary Teegarden (late Omer), late Sybil Moody (late Ren) and the late George Linklater (late Vi). Special cousin to “many” including Corey Evans (Lori), Dirinda Pozzebon (Fred), Heather Kelch and Brad Moody (Paula). John loved his family and made a point of getting the entire family together for a Christmas Party Skate. He was a very special friend to Darla Bruneau of Thunder Bay and her children Cassandra, Larissa and Amanda. John had many dear friends who will fondly remember him. Although John Wayne loved his family dearly, he was extremely dedicated to his military family and especially to his troops. Family, friends and the public are welcome to pay their respects at the Sault Ste. Marie Armouries (375 Pine St.) on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s United Church on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 am. Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
