It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Ella Rose at the age of 93 with her family by her side. Daughter of the late Jack and Ella Forbes Nee Hogan. Dear eldest sister of the late Grace Kozak and Larry Forbes. Survived by brother Jack Forbes. Beloved wife of the late William "Bud" Evoy. Cherished mother of Linda Hryhorchuk (late Peter), late Janice McCausland (Graham) and Darla St. Amour (Robert). Loving Gramma to James McKay (Marie-Claude), Daniel McKay, Hilary DeLuca (Jason), Brent (Shelly), Britannie Thrasher (Shaun), Jason McCausland (Jessica), Curtis McCausland (Lynne), Travis St. Amour (Christina) and Tyler St. Amour. Double G to Nolan, Rose-Marie, Dean, Presley, Jack, Frankie, Dillin, Rockleyn, Joelle, Bud, Morghan, Emily, Brendan and one more on the way. Beloved Auntie Rose to many nieces and nephews. Dear friend to the late Harly.

Our Mothers love of music/performing began at a very early age singing with Sister Grace on the Don Ramsay show through to the original Great Northern Opry. Dad lovingly coined her “Leather Lungs” because of Mom's powerful deliveries of country classics and Elvis medleys in establishments from Blind River to Harmony and Pat’s Northview.  With guitar and spoons always on hand she loved sharing the stage with local musicians/friends who fondly referred to her as “The last of the Golden Girls”.  “It’s just me and Willie left” she would facetiously say. We were lucky enough to call her “Mom”.  Our Mother was the kindest most gentle soul as anyone we’ve ever known. We knew nothing but unconditional love and support throughout our lives.

The world is a little less bright without you in it Mom we will love and miss you always.
Say not in grief she is no more but in thankfulness that she was.

We Believe our Mother would leave this world the same way she left the stage after each performance “Thanks a whole lot friends and neighbours"

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many Friends, Nurses and P.S.W.'s for their care and compassion.

As per Ella's request a Celebration of Life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. or the F.J. Davey Home Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com obituaries section to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.
