It is with sadness but also love and respect that we bid farewell to a life well lived.
Iris passed away peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the remarkable age of 100. Predeceased by her parents Foster (Eric) Elliott and Martha (Peever) and her four siblings, Neil Elliott, Velma Podolski (Nelson), Muriel (Adele) Grezel (Maurice), Beryl Trudeau (Jack) and nephew Eric Sedegren. Iris is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
Iris was an educator for 40 years and travelled the world extensively. Researching family genealogy became her passion and the results became her legacy, her gift to us. In her younger years Iris played softball with her sisters in the Kirkland Lake area and they became known as the “Belles of the Ball Field”. Curling was another of her favorite sports.
Cremation has taken place and as per Iris’s wishes there will not be a visitation or Service. The Family would like to recognize the staff of Apple #2 at the F. J. Davey Home for the care and attention Iris received. A special thank you to Mikayla for offering comfort in the final days.
