DYKE, Lynda May

Posted

Born September 6, 1947. Nurtured by her parents (late) Bert Dyke and Phyllis Ewing (Mann, Dyke). Passed away unexpectedly in her sleep, February 7, 2008. Loving sister of Nancy and Gil Sachro. Devoted aunt of Lindsay and Jon Mitchell (Calgary) and Greg Sachro (Toronto). Step-daughter of (late) Charles Ewing. Step-sister of Marlene Bishop and family (BC). Remembered lovingly by cousins Laura Griswold, Kathryn Cooke and Susan Mann (Sault) and others in southern Ontario, Alberta and BC. Best friend of Phyllis and Glowinn Gibson, Julie Chan, Marilene Lomas, Giselle Wood-Solomon, Cheryl and Henry Maidras and others at the Canadian Hearing Society. Lynda enjoyed a full and active life. She enjoyed her travels with family and with the Sunshine Travel Club. Lynda had fun playing cards, watching Saturday night hockey games and working on her computer. Her skills as a knitter, rug maker and crafter were well known. From a fragile infant with many disabilities, she grew up into a wonderful, contributing citizen who took pride in being able to live independently. Lynda had a great sense of humour and was quick to give a smile. Her heart was full of love and concern for all she knew. A memorial service will be held at Central United Church Fireside room (side entrance, Spring & Albert St.) on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11 am. A reception will follow. A kind gentle soul is gone from our midst. Give someone a hug in her memory. Donations in Lynda’s memory can be made to ARCH or the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre
