The family of George Dosko sadly announces his passing on Tuesday, February 13th in his home, surrounded by love. George was born in France to the late Spaska and Antoine Dosko. He married his wonderful wife Ginette in 1953, and together they shared 64 years of marriage. He will be greatly missed by her, along with their 5 children; Gerry (JoAnne), Claude, Bernard, Olga (late Mark) and Monique. George was the very loving Grandpa of Angella (Mike), Krista (Ken), Danielle, Ashley and Candice. Great Grandpa to James and Dominic. Also left to mourn his passing is his little brother Antoine. Cherished “mon Oncle” of Tania (Dave), Lanetta (Greg) and the late Stephane (Steve), and their children. George will also be missed by close family friends Roger (Carol), Dave (Wendy), Brent, Danny and by a large extended family in France. George loved to be around people and for that reason his house was always full. Although he was a small man, he was mighty. He’d greet you with a firm handshake, with a little grin and twinkle in his eye. If you had a minute, he had a story or saying for you (in one of the 6 languages he knew). He was full of advice, dreams for the future and above all, was always concerned for his family’s well-being. He was a stubborn fighter, who rarely complained. He could be hard, but he also would cry when told “I love you.” He believed in the beauty of the world and use to say that if you wanted to be happy, than make somebody smile. We will miss his presence deeply. We would like to thank his son Claude and niece Tania, who devoted themselves daily to caring for George during his last days. We would also like to thank the nurses (Brandi and Leo) and PSWs from Bayshore, along with the Palliative Care Team for their support and care. A private family gathering was held. Interment and celebration of life to be held at a future date on St. Joseph Island, where George loved to spend his summers with family and friends. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel 705-759-2522).
