DORAZIO, Arthur “Pony”

Posted

Passed away on August 30, 2010 in his 103rd year after a long and beautiful life filled with sports (especially hockey) music and his pipe. He was predeceased by a loving wife Teresa, his partner of 60 years. Art was very close and special to all of his family who loved him dearly, and by whom he will be missed. He was a proud WWII vet and enjoyed his retirement of 44 years. He loved people, remembered everyone he met, and appreciated an audience for his stories. His life was simple yet so full to his last days. Loving and always caring father to his two children, Peter (Karen) of Sault Spring Island, B.C., and Maryann Cloutier (Gus) of Sault Ste. Marie. A testament to both his loving character and his strong sense of family he is remembered fondly by his five grandchildren Catherine (Mark), Jillian (Matt), Jean Paul (Sarah), Marc (Heather) and Andre (Marla). Great grandfather of Solomon, Sadie and Ava. Son of late Maria and Pietro Dorazio. Brother of the late: Louie (Richetta); Fred (Venus); and Tony Dorazio; Emma DiGasperro (Tony); Filomena DiRocco (Jimmy). Son-in-law of the late Angelina and Eugenio Gardi. Brother-in-law of the late Dora Orlando (late Pan), late Vic Gardi (Elda) and late Eda Mandolesi (late Johnny). Remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at St. Anne’s Room, Precious Blood Cathedral on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 12 noon until time of funeral mass at 1 pm. Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Special thanks to the FJ Davey Home, Dr. Ismeil Amhalhal and those that were there to comfort him in his final days.
