DODGE, Thomas Bernard

August 20, 1944 - May 17, 2006. Thomas was born and raised in Blind River, Ontario, the second youngest in a family of eight. He started his lifetime career with H&R Block in Sarnia, Ontario in 1967, was transferred to Edmonton in 1970 and eventually purchased the franchise in Prince Albert in 1989. Thomas looked forward to every tax season and even when his health was failing he maintained his routine of going to work everyday and the casino at night. Thomas will be remembered as a devoted and generous husband and father, a proud successful businessman and a loyal friend to many. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his wife and partner of 38 years Rhonda (nee LaRone); daughter Jamie (John) Lawlor of Nanaimo, BC; son Aaron (Karen Ferguson); three beautiful grandchildren Nicholas, Meagan and Jakob Ferguson-Dodge; mother and father-in-law Anne and Bill LaRone; sisters Wanda Mattice, Audrey Smith, Sister Margaret Dodge, Rita Dodge-Peimli; sister-in-law Dorothy Dodge; Rhonda's brothers and sister Don, Lloyd (Karen), Gord, Norm (Launa Fisher) and Linda LaRone as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his little dog Jesse. Thomas was predeceased by his parents Cecilia and John Dodge, brothers Ted, Noel and Lawrence; brothers-in-law Ralph Smith and Tibor Peimli. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at St. Joseph's Parish, 260 25th St E, with the celebrant being Father Matthew Nguyen. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital, Dialysis Unit. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel. Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
