Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Gasparelli). Loving father of Joanne Scornaienchi (late Mark), Paula Thompson (Billy), David DiPietro (Tonya), Tina Connors (Todd) and Linda Williamson (Graham). Papa Joe of Marcus (Joanna), Andrea (Rob), Mikaela, Tyler (Aly), Brett (Jessica), Dawson (Ryleigh), Dylana (Charlie), Jordan (Maryellen), Alexa, Jared (Dayle), Ryland and Great grandpa of 5. Predeceased by his parents Rocco and Luigia DiPietro and his brother Frank (late Yola). Dear brother of Nick (Carmel). Brother-in-law of the late Norma Werner (late Wolfgang) and Terry Marcoux (late Bill). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Pretoro, Italy and moved to Sault Ste. Marie in September 1948 where he met the love of his life Anna. He worked at Algoma Contractors and retired from Algoma Steel in 1994. Joe loved fishing and following the New York Yankees. He took pride in the upkeep of his yard.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 for the immediate family. Rev. Jeff Shannon officiated. Interment Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Memorial donation (payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated.
