Our Gwen marched her last march, danced her last dance and waved her last flag on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Cherished wife of the late Ed. Beloved mother of Jay and Greg (Cheryl). Cherished grandma of Kristin and Adam (Sara). Loving great-grandmother of Ethan, Kaitlyn, Noah and Graeme. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gwen was a lifelong member of the Canadian Legion and the Ladies' Auxiliary. She was also chair of the Legion Poppy Campaign for many years following the steps of her late husband Ed Dinsdale. She spent many years teaching dance for Trixie Hardy's Dance School and even continued on to carry the flag for the Legion Colour Party until she was 93. When she wasn't taking part in Legion events, she was reining in her two boys Jay and Greg, instilling a strong sense of commitment that has stuck with them.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, April 16th from 11 am to 12:45 pm, followed by a service with the Very Rev. Dr. Jay Koyle officiating. All are invited to stay after the service for a reception and to follow in procession to Greenwood Cemetery at 3 pm. Memorial contributions payable online or by cheque may be made to the Legion Poppy Fund or St. Luke's Cathedral in Gwen's honour.
