Rob Devos died suddenly on March 1, 2023, at Sunnybrook Hospital despite the heroic efforts of the staff at their Cardiac ICU.

Rob was born in the Netherlands in 1948 to Harry and Jane, and brought to Canada as a small child along with big brother Hans. Sister Annette Susan was later born to the family at their home in Sarnia.

Rob is survived by his beloved wife Rose LaCroix and his three children, Erik, Alexandra, and Chris.

In addition to his sister Annette Susan (Larry) and brother Hans (Judy) many relatives in the Devos, Lamsma, Glass, Elms and Leverton families will mourn him, as well as his surviving aunt Betty Vander Beek.

Rob hauled cargo all over Canada in his big rig truck, and he was proud of driving over a million miles accident free.

He had an adventurous youth, living the hippie life in Haight Ashbury, ski bumming and hang gliding in B.C. and working as a cowboy there.

He had a passion for motorcycles and was proud to own a restored 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead.

He had a lifetime love of birds and even as a little boy he kept pigeons and rescued injured wild birds.

He loved rock'n'roll music, but the Blues were closest to his heart.  He read books voraciously and loved to travel.

He endured many years of pain from his arthritis and heart disease with gallantry and courage, never losing his zest for life.  He will be sorely missed.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
