After a long battle with cancer, the family regrets to announce the passing of Michael John Delavalle at age 55 at Sault Area Hospital on December 28, 2022 while surrounded by family.
Mike will now be reunited with his parents Joe and Algesa and siblings Patti and Joey. Mike will be dearly missed by his girlfriend Carmen Barkovic, brother Donnie (Linda), nephews and nieces Kristin Bateman (Mike), Joe (Lindsay), Jason, Randy Williams (Holly), Susan Williams, Brian Williams (Nancy), Nicole Delavalle-Hallock and the late Nancy and many great nieces and nephews.
Until his illness, Mike resided in Hamilton, ON, managing and working as a personal trainer at 5 Star Fitness where for three years in a row, was selected as Personal Trainer of the Year in Hamilton. Mike took great pride in helping people achieve their goals physically and mentally. He will be dearly missed by coworkers, clients and friends.
After returning to Sault Ste. Marie, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and his German Shepherd Mr. Snickers.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rassouli, the Sault Area Hospital Oncology team and the many Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit doctors and nurses for their care and compassion.
Friends are invited to visit with family at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, January 2, 2022 from 10:45 am to 11:45 am. Funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund or the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
