 In Loving Memory of George DeFelice, 87 years Friday, March 30th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.Beloved husband of Mary DeFelice. Loving father of Maureen Blakely (Arden) of Sudbury, Paul of Nelson B.C., and Greg (Barb) of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Blakely (Christine), Stephanie Boyuk (John), Julia DeFelice, George DeFelice, and great grandchildren Devon Macintyre-Blakely and “Baby Boyuk“ on the way. Dear son of Domenico DeFelice and Filomena DeFelice both predeceased. Dear brother of Brundy (Alma) both predeceased, Lydia Beadman (Tom predeceased) of Timmins, Joe predeceased (Linda of Ridgeway), Angelo predeceased (Marie) of Nanaimo B.C., and Norm (Joyce) of St. Catharines. Born in Timmins and raised in Schumacher, Ontario. He married Mary (Connelly) DeFelice in South Porcupine in 1950. George worked as a beer sales representative for 35 years, retiring with Molson's in 1985. He was a life member of the Caruso Club. His passion for hockey began at a young age after leaving Timmins at the age of 17 years George made stops in Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Omaha, St. Louis, San Francisco, Vancouver, Springville and Sudbury. He was a member of Max Silverman's 1954 Sudbury Wolves that played in the Allan Cup Final which began a life long passion for hockey, in later years he also enjoyed baseball. He was active in many community organizations over the years, like the A.C.T. A wonderful storyteller. The center of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral service in the R.J Barnard Chapel JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch st., Sudbury Monday April 2nd, 2012 at 4 PM. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury. Donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated. (Friends may gather after 2:30 PM Monday).
