“Mike” to all who knew and loved him.  With broken hearts, we are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Mike in his 65th year on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 at the Sault Area Hospital with family by his side. Son of the late Murray Daynard and late Avis McLeod (Daynard).  Stepson of the late Chic McLeod. Fun loving Dad of Trevor and Sarah Daynard and very proud “Grampa Mikey” to Isaac.  Nephew to many of the Daynard family, who have predeceased him. Loving nephew of the late Gary Thorkilson.  Many a great time was spent having supper and trips to the Casino with Uncle Gary.  Cousin but loved more as a brother to Kirsten and Tom Young, Lori and Tom Desjardin, Erin Lawrence and Tylar and Laura Thorkilson. “Crazy Uncle Mike” to Tarina and Nick Barter, Bronson and Angela Young, Spencer and Ashley Young, Shaina and Jay Robert, Kendall and Silas Pickering, Kris and Amy Desjardin, Lacey and David Flynn, Jocelyn and Amanda and Christina Lawrence and Justin Thorkilson.  Great Uncle Mike to many nieces and nephews.  Lifelong friend and parter in crime to Mike Luzzi.   Mike always kept in touch with good friend Hannu Hupponen and grew up with the Hilton Beach boys Tom Desjardin, Shane and Doug Alexander and Rob McLean.  Through Mike’s employment at the Tube Mill he gained lifelong friends Reg Fortin and Randy Diotte and many others. Mike always kept us laughing with his quirky dance moves, his hardy laugh and his infamous “yooooooooow” which every once in awhile would catch us by surprise. Many times he would make us laugh so hard we burst into tears.  We will all miss your “Crazy Daynard” shenanigans and will keep them as part of your legacy.
Trevor and Sarah would like to thank Auntie Lori and Uncle Tom and all the cousins for their loving support through a very difficult time.  Special thank you to the I.C.U. and all Doctors and Nurses for all of their compassion, and loving care given to Mike in his time of need. Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522).  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
