March 9, 1973 - April 8, 2024

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dean Daigle (Billy) and his fur baby Misery on Monday April 8, 2024. Beloved Father of his only daughter Nicole Daigle (Dylan) and cherished Grandpa of Dean Agawa-Daigle. Loving son of Pamela Charrette (late George) and the late Terrence Charrette. Much loved brother of Jamie Daigle, Lee-Ann Charrette (Chris) and Terri-Lynn Charrette (Joe). Uncle of Shay Smiddy (Kayla), Carlee-Ann Smiddy, Tye Rowe, Jason Newman (Katrina), Marc Newman, Blake Newman (Sydney) and Tristin Cote. Great Uncle of Mac Smiddy and baby Newman (Jason and Katrina). He will be greatly missed by his many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Billy was a proud Batchewana First Nations band member who had a heart of gold. His summers living in Gros Cap with his Grandmother Marjorie were cherished moments that shaped his generous spirit. During his time in Gros Cap, he became very close with his Uncle Peter and Aunt Ruthann. He grew up in Prince Township where he met many good lifelong friends. He had the gift of gab and knew how to make friends wherever he went.

One of Billy's greatest moments was meeting his Grandson Dean who became the apple of his eye. For the first time, it was one of the greatest joys of his life. He was so proud that his Grandson was named Dean in his honour.

If you've ever had the pleasure to meet Billy, his personality was such that he would give you the shirt off his back. He was passionate about helping others. Billy was always known to be witty and light up a room with his humour. Over the years, Billy was known for frequenting and socializing at the local bar (the Rosie), and to this day he is still one of the most recognizable faces in the west end. Through life's twists and turns, his loyal friends from the west end remained by his side, a testament to the depth of their bond. A special thank you to Marty Matilla and a huge special thank you to Mark Kelly for going above and beyond for Billy and for our family. Mark you truly exemplified the true meaning of friendship, the family would like to thank you for the endless hours and dedication you spent with Billy and his fur baby Misery.

Billy was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends whose lives are enriched for having known him. The family would also like to thank Jon's Medicine Shop, Dr. Bruni, Cat Lee Bookkeeping.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations in memory of Dean may be made to the Algoma Autism Foundation (payable by cheque only).

"There's a voice that keeps calling on me
Down the road is where I'll be

Every stop I make, I'll make a new friend
Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'll be gone again

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on"
