With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother at her daughters home with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 88.
Beloved wife of the late Gino D'Agostini. Loving mother of Carol D'Agostini, Douglas D'Agostini (Rita) and Nancy Sicoly (Carmen). Proud Gramma of Michael (Kait), Ashley (Guy), Nicholas (Angela) and Matthew (Jacqui). Great Gramma of Cooper. Dear sister of the late Raymond Barbison (late Tina) and the late Eda Grenier (late Ted). Velma will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Velma was one of the first employees of the Group Health Centre and had a long career until her retirement in 1994. Our mom was one of the sweetest, kindest and compassionate person until her last day. Mom spent many years as a Group Health Centre volunteer and enjoyed coffee dates with family and friends.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the police department and to the paramedics for the comfort and care that they provided.
A private family funeral will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) with Rev. Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to ARCH or to the Group Health Centre - Trust Fund would be appreciated by the family.
