July 29, 2013 - It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the passing of our father, Bob, at the Sault Area Hospital, who after a courageous battle to overcome heart surgery, was called home to be with Mom on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of the late Frances. Dad will be forever cherished and forever missed by his children Steven (Shirl), Helen Currie, Denise Currie, Bruce (Melissa) and the late Bill. Grandfather of Bob Mathieu (Candice), Josh (Leah), Tyler, Andrew (Christine), Shawn, Billy and Robert Currie, Frances, Paul, Kyle and Isabella. Great grandfather of  Kaiya, Ariya and the late Ava, the late Anna, Noah and Logan. Special grandpa of Paul & Stacey Fisher, Sasha Williamson and Sharon, Lisa, Sequoia, Destiny & Sekora. Brother of Jack (Peggy) and predeceased by Donald (Lucille), Chester (late Barbara), Helen Davidson (late Russell), Neil (late Erma), Dorothy Gladwin (late Ivan) and Douglas (late Jackie). Brother-in-law of Noreen Doughty (late Ross), Mary Stanley (late Fred), Gerald Malleau (Donna) and predeceased by Verna Jackson (late Eddie), Edna Kerekes (late Danny), Leonard Malleau (late Irene), Corine Delaney (late Allan), Laurett Delaney (late Richard), Doris Grant (late Bruce), Terrance Malleau , Pete (late Pat) and Eleanor Hodgkinson (late Harold), Paul Malleau, Pauline Stewart (late John). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bob leaves behind his friends from Ranger Lake and the City Board of Works who will miss him very much. Bob’s family would like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses of the SAH who attended to him as well as those in Montreal. We are grateful for the time we had with dad. Friends may call at Bethel Bible Chapel, 686 Black Rd. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 9 – 11 am with funeral service to follow at 11 am. Pastor Bill McLean officiating.  Refreshments to follow the service then to Greenwood Cemetery for interment at 1 pm. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, SAH Cancer Care Fund or the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be appreciated by the family.
