It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Eileen Cunnington (nee Grealis) announce her passing on Friday, August 13th, 2021, at 80 years old. She passed away peacefully with her children by her side after a valiant fight with alzheimer's disease. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Philip Cunnington. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children Heather and David, her daughter-in-law Emi and her two granddaughters Yuuka and Sakura, and her cherished family in Toronto. Carolyn was born on the 18th of June, 1941 to Olive Hargreave (nee Harris) in Toronto, Ontario.
She loved East York, raised and graduated from East York Collegiate Institute. Though she loved her friends and family in Southern Ontario, Carolyn (with her husband and children) journeyed north and settled in SSM, Ont. She became the secretary of Emmanuel United Church and worked there for nearly 30 years. When Carolyn's first granddaughter was born, she decided to leave her fulfilling work, loving church community, friends and the city that had become home and moved west to BC. With great joy she witnessed her two beloved granddaughters as they grew. Carolyn will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. A memorial service will be held when possible.
