CULLEN, James Delmar

It is with sadness we announce the passing of James Demar Cullen on Monday, June 30, 2008 in his 89th year. Delmar served his country in World War II in the RCAF 411 Spirfire Squardron, was a long serving and proud Kiwanis Club member (President 1999-2000) and a 37 year employee of Algoma Steel. Delmar is survived by his life partner, Myrtle Kell. Father of Douglas and his partner Donna Ellis of Sault Ste. Marie and Fred and his wife Vickie of Merrickville, Ontario. Grandfather of Brandie-Lee and Dustin Cullen. Predeceased by his wife, Gwyneth (nee Dent) in 1993 and his sister Delores Hemingway of Hamilton, Ontario in 2005. Delmar is fondly remembered by his sister Myrtle Radke of Kelowna, B.C., his brother Jack (wife Vallan) of London, Ontario and his lovely nieces, Jane Evans of Hamilton, Ontario, Barb Cocharan of Kelowna, Pat Solomon of Cambridge, Jennifer Cullen of London, Ontario, Lynn Garduno of Colorado Springs, Colorado and nephews Bruce Radke of Cambridge, Ontario and Jim Radke of Pennsylvania, USA. Friends may call at the Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 11 am – 1 pm. Funeral service to follow at St. Luke’s Cathedral at 1 pm. Dean Nelson Small officiating. Special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor of the Van Daele Nursing Home for all their efforts and kindness. Memorial contributions to St. Luke’s Cathedral or Algoma Music Festival would be appreciated by the family.
