CROCKFORD, Leonard Carleton

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Leonard Carleton Crockford (Crocky), 76 years of age on September 11th, 2006. Len was a life member of the Terrace Bay Curling Club. He was often spotted golfing in the early morning down at the Aguasabon Golf Club or at the course in Lakeland Florida where he spent the winters. He was an ardent fisherman and hunter. Len moved to Terrace Bay from Thessalon Ontario in 1947 and retired from Kimberly Clark of Canada in 1986 after 38 years of service. Len will be sadly missed by his best friend and wife of 55 years Norma, his daughters Carla (Rob) Anderson and Ann (Mark) Hara and their children Steven, Mark and Heather Anderson and Katie and Brad Hara. He is also survived by his brother Ross (Glenna) Crockford, Sisters-in-law Doris Crockford and Olga Crockford as well as 14 nieces and 11 nephews. Len was predeceased by his parents Carl and Ada Crockford, brothers Al and Earl Crockford, and daughter Nancy Crockford. Friends may call at the KING FUNERAL HOME in Schreiber from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 27 , 2006. A Funeral Service for Len will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2006, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Terrace Bay Community Church. Interment will be held on Saturday September 30, 2006, in the family plot at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Thessalon Ontario beginning at 1:00 p.m. Should family and friends desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Terrace Bay Community Church or a charity of your choice.
