CRESS, Roberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Roberta Louise Cress (McLaughlin) in her 74th year at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2013.  Born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, she attended and graduated from Chilliwack High School.  She came to the Sault with her husband and 2 youngest children 27 years ago.  Bobbie made many friends while working for the Zellers Store.  She leaves behind her husband of 55 years (as of August 30th) Norman Cecil Cress.  She will be sadly missed by her children Norman Jr. known to his family as Buddy (Christine) of British Columbia, Danny of Alberta and her daughter Teresa Cress of the Sault.  Grandmother of Melissa Marra (Ryan) and Rosalie Cress-Prescott (Matt).  Great grandmother of Theo James Prescott.  Daughter of the late Charles William and Ina Irene (Thirsk) McLaughlin of British Columbia.  Predeceased by her brother Charles Sandi McLaughlin of British Columbia and sister Pat Jung (Bob) of British Columbia.  Sister-in-law, friend and confidant of Gail Sheppard of the Sault and Jack Cress (Diane) of Bloomfield, Michigan.  She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.  Funeral service to be held in the chapel at 3 pm.  Rev. Larry Burton officiating.  Memorial contributions to the Lung Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  The family also wishes to mention and express their heartfelt thanks for their understanding and kindness to the nurses of 3B and C, ICU, with special mention of Amy 3B, Kent ICU and Sandie her hospital case worker.  All of whom showed great understanding and kindness.  Lastly, but not least her bath ladies from the Red Cross, Christine Agnew and Sherry Breckenridge with special mention of all the helpful people at CCAC who worked her case.  Thank you all again her angels in Scrubs.  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
