December 3, 1934 - October 30, 2023.

With broken hearts, the family of Vera (Nan) Crema announces her peaceful passing on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Sault Area Hospital.

Mom was tough and fought hard, experiencing one setback after another for the last seven months. It is now time for her to rest and be at peace. There is no doubt God will welcome home another angel.

Nan was the beloved mother of Jennifer Rennison (Les). Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Rennison and Stephanie Major (Robert). Much loved great-grandmother "GG" of Lincoln Rennison, Abigail Major and RJ Major.  Mom's great-grandchildren were her special little angels and she loved them so much. They always put a smile on her face.

Nan was the wife of the late Al Crema. She was the daughter of the late Melville and late Vera Matthews.  Much loved daughter-in-law of the late Sisto and late Mary Crema. Sister of the late Raymond Matthews (Audrey), the late Gerry Matthews (Matilda), the late Marilyn Matthews (died in childhood) and the late Ruth-Anne Fleury (late Claude). "Auntie Nan" is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mom was an avid seamstress and quilter.  She was a stay-at-home mom for years before taking a part-time job at Sears. She attended St. Gregory's Parish where she and her mother-in-law sang in the choir for decades. Nan was also a long-time member of the Catholic Women's League.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Berry, Dr. Shaffi and the wonderful staff in the Renal Dept., Dr. Elder, Dr. Woolner and the countless number of compassionate nurses (especially April D. from 2C and Lacey H. from 2B), Nurse Practitioners, PSW's and Physiotherapists who took wonderful care of mom during her time in the hospital.

Friends and family are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
