Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 71.
Beloved husband of Christina Dawson (nee Brown). Step-dad of Kathleen Lambert (Ivan) and Kevin Smith (Amber). Proud grandpa of Julie Lambert (Jackson) and Jennifer Lambert. Special big buddy and great grandpa to his bestest little buddies James and Joseph. Predeceased by his parents Annette and Conrad Courtemanche. Dear brother of Albert (Bernice), Rolande (late Lionel), Ronald (Gwen), late Denis, and Ricky. Son-in-law of the late Gerald and Ina Brown. Brother-in-law Mary Lewis (late GG), Liz McLeod (late Rodger), Karen Pare (late Leo Paul), Hal Brown, and Erin Stibler (Andy). Leo will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Leo will be missed by his fur babies Nicky and Daisy.
A special thanks to his family physician Dr. Peter Maione and the many other doctors and nurses who looked after him over the last few years; especially to the teams in the Emergency Room and I.C.U who tried valiantly to save him, they are truly angels among us. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the Bayshore Team and especially his Nurse Cindy, God blessed us the day he sent you to us.
As per Leo's request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
