CORBETT, Mary Evelyn (nee Denneny)

Age 93, passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Saturday, June 1, 2013 surrounded by members of her loving family.  Beloved wife and best friend of the late Stanley W.G. Corbett, loving mother of Stan Corbett (Jane, Kingston), the late Susan Morris (Arthur) and David Corbett (Mary, Los Angeles, California), and loving sister of the late Robert Denneny (Isabelle).  She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Katie Malone (Michael) and Michael Morris, Sean Corbett (Kingston) and Alison Baxter (Jim, Toronto), and Samantha Corbett (Los Angeles), and by her great-grandchildren, Emma, Declan and Kieran Malone.  She will be remembered as a loving aunt by her many nieces and nephews.  Many residents of Sault Ste. Marie will have known Mary because of the years she worked as a reporter and columnist for the Sault Star.   Following her time as a journalist she worked in public relations at the General Hospital and was a volunteer at the Algoma Art Gallery. The family extends their gratitude to the staff on Cedar Three at the Davey Home, and especially to Mike, Sandra, Colleen, and Yvonne, who took such good care of Mary during her time there.  A memorial service and a celebration of Mary’s life will be held in early July, details to follow.  Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made in the name of Mary Corbett to “Artpark” c/o The Art Gallery of Algoma, 10 East Street, Sault Ste.
