On Saturday January 15th, the creator has called upon our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Her name is Helene Cooper but we all affectionately called her Mum. Mum was born in Toronto on September 18th, 1945. Even though she only spent 76 years on this earth, she lived hundreds of lives. She would not want us to carry sadness for her loss. Instead, we are keeping her alive in our hearts, filled with love and happiness knowing we were blessed with the memories we carry and share.

Mum was an unremarkably strong, powerful woman! Unapologetically authentic and filled with love and acceptance for all. I know her stubbornness and desire to be close to family and loved ones means her spirit is still here wearing a pair a cowboy boots ready to kick some ass if anyone messes with us.

We will be celebrating her life with a party where we can share memories, drink some whiskey and hopefully dance around naked in the rain. Just as she wanted!

The family would like donations to be made to Women in Crisis Algoma in memory of Helene (made payable by cheque or at https://womenincrisis.ca/get-involved/ ). Visit www.osullivanfuneralhome.com to leave condolences for the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St James Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456).
