With heavy hearts, the family announces that Eugenia passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Friday evening, September 29, 2023. She was almost 98. Beloved wife of the late Francesco Coccimiglio. Dearly loved and devoted mother of Ida Coccimiglio. Cherished and lovingly remembered by her grandsons: Jerry Coccimiglio (late Ann) and Frankie Coccimiglio as well as her great-grandchildren: Frankie, Talia, Francesco and Marco. Dear sister of Amelia Bruni (late Emilio), Armenia Coccimiglio (late Victor) and Fiore Giunti (late Eva). Predeceased by 2 brothers: Giovanni Giunti (late Angela) and Antonio Giunti (late Carmela) as well as a sister, Ann Coccimiglio (late Antonio). Daughter of the late Pasquale and Francesca (nee Guzzo) Giunti. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Francesco, Eugenia arrived in emigrated to Canada from Italy in 1956.
They eventually settled in Sault Ste Marie where they created a beautiful home and raised their daughter Ida. Eugenia was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook and was always looking after those she loved. She took great pride in her garden and always grew more than enough to feed her own family and share with others. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A homegoing journey from Arnprior to Sault Ste Marie took place on Wednesday, October 4th where Eugenia was entombed alongside her husband at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum in Sault Ste Marie on Thursday morning, October 5th, 2023.
