Peacefully at his residence on Friday January 20, 2006 with his loving family at his side, Mr. Georges Edward Côté of St. Catharines in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Pierrette (St.Jacques) Côté. Loving father of Rocque of Welland, Marc of Vaughn and Johanne (Todd Crawford) of St. Catharines. Dear brother of Georgette (Roméo Lortie) of Timmins. Cherished grandfather of Michel, Christian, Isabelle, Matthieu, Caleb, Noah and Brocque. Predeceased by his parents Léger and Rosa (Ladouceur) Côté, 2 sisters Jacqueline and Gloria and 2 brothers Léo and Rodolphe. Mr. Côté was born in Cobalt, Ontario. He worked at Algoma Steel for 23 years and was a 4th degree knight member of the Chevaliers de Colomb. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main St., Welland, Sunday from 2:00 -4:00 and 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Église du Sacré Coeur. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. A vigil for Mr. Côté will be celebrated at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be appreciated by the family.
