Gary Chirsky - July 1, 1946 to June 12, 2002 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a friend, husband, father, and brother after a brief battle with cancer. He succumbed quietly and quickly with little suffering. Garry, a long-time Sault resident, spend his final days in Winnipeg with wife Judy, children Michael, Stephanie, and Moya. Brother of Steve Yablonski (Donna). Uncle of Michael and Matthew, Sault Ste. Marie. In his final months, Gary spoke often of the Sault and the friends he missed the most and his most enjoyable memories. Gary left the Sault almost 30 years ago but his love for those he left behind and the place he continued to call "home" kept him coming back. In keeping with his dying wishes, some of his ashes will be scattered on the north shore of Lake Superior. "I shall look as if I were suffering. I shall look a little as if I were dying. It is like that. Do not come to see that. It is not worth the trouble. I shall not leave you." -Antoine de Saint Exupery.
