Passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the age of 78 with his daughter Karen Nixon (Jay) and his sons Scott Laird (Shannon) and Bradley Laird (Angela) by his side. Proud grandfather of Mae, Jac and Ben, Alexander and Aili, Megan and Tianna. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuckie was the son of the late Pearl and Carleton Laird. He was the always supportive and caring brother of Neil Laird (late Shirley), late Sandra Wilson (Frank), Carolyn Buckley and Arden Laird (late Rose). Throughout his life Chuckie loved playing guitar, singing, dancing, fishing, hunting and all things outdoors with friends and family. Chuck was never judgmental and always accepting of anyone regardless of their differences physical or otherwise and lived life on his own terms. Put him anywhere and he'd have friends in no time. Special thanks to ICU Nurses Wendy, Maria, Dr's Nalla and Mantle of Health Sciences North. A Private Family graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Fraternal Order of Eagles (246 Wellington St. West at 5 pm. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) to the SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
