It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ken Jr. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 57.  Loving son of Kenneth Dwayne Sr. and the late Shirley.  Proud father of Andrew Collins of Prince Edward Island and MacKenzie Catling of Barrie, ON.  Beloved brother of Valerie (Al), Veronica (Bruce), David (Kerri) and Rob (Franca).  Ken will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, family, friends and especially by Mack and Pam Ableson.  Ken loved everyone equally and always found a way to make you feel special. He excelled at everything he was involved in, whether it was being a family man, an athlete, or his job. Kenny and his beautiful smile will be missed immensely.  A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  A special thank you to Detective Melanie Roach of the S.S.M. City Police and to Detective Francis Fillion of the Quebec Police for your help during this very difficult time. Arrangements entrusted to the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre. (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard His call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace on at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A family shared, a laugh, a kiss,
oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much,
good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now; He set me free.
