(Retired teacher, Loyalist College, tutor in Sault Ste. Marie) - at Belleville General Hospital on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Rob, 62 years of age, entered peacefully into rest, surrounded by his loving family. Son of Doris and Jack Cassan. Most loved husband and best friend of Jo Cassan (nee Gorman). Cherished father of Paul (Theresa) of Sault Ste Marie, and Ross (Brina) of Ottawa. Very proud Grampa to Casey (her nanny for 1 1/2 years), Jack, and baby Odin. Loved brother of Lorraine, Virginia (Jan), and Judy (Dan). Brother-in-law of David (Laurie) Gorman and Bonnie (Gerry) Putman. Loving Godfather to Heather (Stephen, daughter Alexandra). Also survived by his aunts and uncles, nieces and nephew, and best friends and travelling companions Skip and Thelma Tyrie. Rob will be greatly missed by many people. He was proud of the role he had in the success of his students. He was a great influence in the lives of many. Memorial service took place on Friday December 31, 2004. A bursary in Rob's name has been set up at Loyalist College, Box 4200, Belleville, ON, K8N 5B9. -
