Peacefully surrounded by her family, Lynda passed away at the Sault Area Hospital Plummer Site on December 7, 2009 at the age of 64. Dear daughter of Theresa McCanna and the late Donald McCanna. Deeply cherished, beloved wife and best friend of David Cardiff. Loving mother of Donna Ward, Trudy McCanna (Dennis), Leo McCanna and Chris McCanna (Charmaine). Dear sister of Bruce McCanna. Adored Gramma of Steven. Candy Lady Gramma to Desiree and Mariah. Loved Gramma to Cameron and Calista. This courageous and stubborn lady fought hard and long to continue her life for her family. She is a pillar of strength, understanding and unconditional love. Her warm gentle smile and positive attitude gave us strength to rise to any occasion and overcome appearingly insurmountable hurdles. Lynda will be greatly missed but never forgotten through our journeys of life. A big thank you to all the staff at Sault Area Hospital for the many years of wonderful care provided during her lengthy illness. A very special thank you to Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Berry, Dr. Shaffie, Shirley Pulkinen, Kim Fisher and the Renal girls who kept her with us these last difficult 7 years with great compassion and dignity. A huge thank you to all the staff of the oncology, palliative care unit for their wonderful assistance and empathy to help Lynda and her family accept and embrace the end of her life. A celebration of Lynda's life will take place at the Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 6 - 9 pm and again on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm.
