CARBERRY, Sheldon

On Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, in the arms of the ones he loved, our unsung hero lost his valiant fight with cancer.

His presence and shenanigans will be forever missed by his soul mate and best friend Lindsey Kellar and his adored and cherished children Kyra “Lil Munch” and Ryder “My Man”. Beloved son of Vera and Gary Dupre. Brother of Debbie, Brian (Sherri), Jamie (Amanda) and Steven (Kelly). Brother in law, and best friend of Amanda and Josh Arsenault, LeeAnn (Adam) and Tammy (0ssie). Treasured “unkie” to ‘his girls’. Uncle to many amazing nieces and nephews.

Leaving behind a large extended family who will be forever grateful for the love he gave to his family.

Sheldon’s passion in life was his family. He spent every moment ensuring they were happy and taken care of. They were his world. He built many friendships over the years with his co-workers at the Sault Area Hospital that were very special to him. A special thank you to Lorene and Bobbi and the rest of the amazing housekeeping department for being so supportive of Sheldon and his family.

The family would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses who cared for Sheldon through his battle with cancer, with a special thanks to Dr. Booth for always going above and beyond. A big heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caring staff at ARCH who made his last days with family comfortable and meaningful.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, January 4th, 2023, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Icebreakers Sports Bar (inside John Rhodes Community Centre).

In lieu of flowers, Lindsey, Kyra and Ryder asks that a non-perishable food item be donated at the celebration-where it will then be delivered to the food bank in Sheldon’s honour. If unable to attend, these items then can be dropped off to O’Sullivan Funeral Home (Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30). Sheldon enjoyed many hobbies and loved sharing those hobbies with the kids.  One of his favourite was taking the kids for long walks on a cold night and looking for people who were less fortunate that he could feed a warm home cooked meal to. Now it’s our turn.

Rest in Peace Sheldon, your work here is done.
