With tremendous sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Coach Mike at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 with his family at his side at the age of 74. We take great comfort knowing he is now reunited with his cherished wife, Carolyn. Proud father of Abbie Caputo, Carolyn Caputo-McCauley (Gene) and Michelle Caputo. Fun-loving grandpa of Michael, Caden, Addison, Alexandria and Cassandra. Cherished son of Carla and the late Albert Caputo. Dear brother of the late Teresa Caputo (late Guerino) and the late Carmine Caputo. Son-in-law of the late Carroll and Georgina Mousseau. Brother-in-law of the late George Mousseau, Janis Rice (late David), Laurel Williams (Pat), Ward Mousseau (Vicky) and Victoria Armstrong (Ian). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Coach Mike was honoured to be able to help develop many young athletes both on the ice and on the field. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard Majella at 11:30 a.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to all the amazing doctors and nurses, especially Karie, in the ICU at the Sault Area Hospital.
