With deep sadness, the family of Wendyl Cameron announce his passing on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age 86. His quiet wit, generous heart and treasured companionship was unfailing.

Born in Aberdeen, Ontario, June 4, 1935 to the late Minerva (nee Alcock) and Willon Cameron; Wendyl is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Frances (nee Trenholm). He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Loeta Black (Harold), Marla Smith (late Lloyd), Susan Cameron (Charlie Trites), and his brother Vernon Cameron (Judy). Special brother-in-law to Catherine McKnight (late Del), late Florence Wolfe (late Lorenzo), and the late Jean Neder (late Max). Many nieces, nephews and their families throughout Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, California, Texas, Florida and Australia will treasure and miss the times spent with their Uncle Wendyl over the years.

Wendyl was employed by Algoma Steel prior to becoming a business man - his long-term goal. He owned and managed every aspect of Soo Tent & Awning for 53 years. Wendyl excelled in all sports he wanted to challenge, winning trophies for basketball and tennis. Passionate about the outdoors, he enjoyed many opportunities to fish, hunt, and explore the great outdoors with family and friends.  Wendyl's friends within the "Great North Benevolent Club" bi-monthly meetings and the ski weekend every Valentine's weekend were most important to him.

Special thanks to Doctors, Nurses, P.S.W's, staff and management of the Extendicare Maple View for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society, Crime Stoppers, Salvation Army or R.C.L. Poppy Fund. Arrangements and online condolences entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Cameron family.
