CAMERON, Ronald David (Ron) - With deep sadness Ron's family announces his passing at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in his 74th year.
Ron was the beloved son of the late Wilfred and Ida (nee Maki) Cameron, the brother of Keith (Margaret) and the late Glen. Uncle of John Cameron (Ruth), Susan Dodson (Dan), Jim Cameron (Kim), Barb Schoeppe, Kevin Cameron (Melanie) and their families. His family is planning to share their memories of happy times with Ron at a summer gathering. His ashes will rest peacefully at Greenwood Cemetery with his parents.
Gratitude is extended to city police officers, paramedics and SAH staff for their compassionate care. Many thanks to Ron's friends Ken and Gary and to his neighbour, Lena, for reaching out to him during his illness.
In memory of Ron, his family would welcome memorial gifts payable by cheque or online to the SAH Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA. A tree or shrub planted this spring in remembrance of Ron would also be a fitting tribute.
