Passed away peacefully as he wished, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. Loving husband and best friend of Jeannine. Cherished father of Michael Jr. and Terri Lynn Vaillancourt (Paul). Much loved grandfather of Tim Walker. Son of the late Herbert and Mona Butt. Dearly loved brother of Ann Palahnuk (Paul) and Joan O’Reilly (late John). Special brother-in-law of Pauline and Joe Dewar. Uncle of Susan Spencer (John), Jane Gervais (Guy), Dan Guindon (Cheryl), Rick Guindon (Jolene) and Ashley and Brandy Dewar. Son-in-law of Lorraine and Paul Levesque. Mike was an officer of the City of Sault Ste. Marie Police Services for 31 years until his retirement in 1993. His life has been made much richer by his many close friends and the by the same token, to be Mike’s friend was truly a blessing. Mike’s life was made so much easier in the last while by some phenomenal health care professionals. Dr. Pauline Bragaglia was a constant source of strength. Several nurses cared for him and are affectionately known as “Mike’s babes”. Special thanks to his “angel on earth” Leena Orchard. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 from 10 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm. Rev. Len Monico officiating.
