March 8, 1919 – February 28, 2007. On this day the Lord has taken our father gently, to his resting place in heaven. Our Dad had his son Tom Jr. (wife Helen) and his daughter Carol Ann (husband Frank Hunt) by his side in thought and deed. His soul mate Aurora (nee Gassi) cared for him in every way possible to his dying day. Dear son of the late Stefanija and Matthew Butkovich. He is survived by his sister Mary Vresk (late Steve) and predeceased by his brother Sam (late Doreen). Tom’s grandchildren Andrea Carmichael, Christine Butkovich, Tonya Tropper (Mark), Kent, Marin, Paul and Justine Butkovich carry his legacy; one of fairness, humility and in touch with nature. Also Tom’s great grandchildren Taylor, Noah, Cloe Aurora, and Genna will miss their Pappa. Tom was a wonderful ball player and the rules of that game are what guided him always. He made many friends throughout his years, and the people of Batchawana will attest to the fact that whatever help was needed they could count on Tom. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews but never forgotten for his special ways. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Eric Pannike officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. We are grateful for the care extended to “Tommy-Too-Much” from the Windsor Park. His last days spent in the compassionate care of the girls from Apple Orchard at the F. J. Davey Home will never be forgotten.
