BURNSIDE, Donna Leotia

It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Burnside announce her passing in her 93rd year at Pathways Retirement Residence with her daughters at her side.  Donna has now gone to join their father Stan in heaven.  Donna was predeceased by husbands the late Stanley Cruickshank and the late George Burnside.  She is survived by daughters Mary Donna Slumskie (Jim) and Karen Van Sickle (Wayne).  “Plain Gramma” will be sadly missed by grandchildren Shawna Jovanovic (Nick), David Slumskie, Benjamin Martin (Charlene), Brendan and Emily Van Sickle (Mike) and “Special Plain Gramma” of great granddaughters Addie and Victoria Jovanovic and Annika Slumskie.  She was a loving aunt, great aunt and great, great aunt to many nieces and nephews and a special friend and companion of Archie McCarroll.  Donna touched the lives of many people.  She was a thoughtful, compassionate nurse, a true and faithful member of her church and choir family and a hard and generous worker and community volunteer.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 6 – 9 p.m.  Then again at Harmony St. Mark’s Church, Richards Landing on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m.  Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.  Rev.
