(December 17, 1955 ~ February 24, 2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Candy Burns. She died peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Saturday, February 24, 2024 with her husband by her side.

Loving wife of Patrick (Pat) Burns. Proud mother of Nathan Morley (Maggie), Joey (Katherine) and Katie Burns. Grandmother to Cassondra Snow. Daughter of the late Mike and Vida Lang. Sister to Chuck, the late Brian (Sherry), Glenn (Mary), Jim (Roxy), Heather (Angelo) and Darren (Kathy). Sister-in-law to Brad, Dean and the late Debbie. Aunt and great-aunt to many.

Candy grew up in Harrow, Ontario and moved to the Soo area in the mid 70's. An avid crafter she also got Katie involved and they would enter several craft shows together. Candy volunteered to several organizations in Sault Ste. Marie for more than 20 years including the Bushplane Museum, United Way and income tax for low income earners. Candy's favorite place to be was out at Rock Lake.

Candy would like to say farewell to family and friends and if there is a place like Rock Lake on the other side, that is where you'll find her. And when you pass, please come and visit, there will always be room beside the fire.

The family would like to thank the nurses from Bayshore Home Health Care, Dr. Booth and the ARCH hospice staff and the many great volunteers for everything they did to make Candy and family feel comfortable.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Museum on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to ARCH or the Canadian Bushplane Museum would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Burns family.
