BURNS, Alexander Abercrombie

Peacefully passed away on January 4, 2010 to be with his Lord, in his 91st year. Beloved son of the late Robert and Jessie Burns. Loving brother of the late Robert (late Geraldine), late Archie, James (Amelia), George (late Dolores), Rae ( Sharon). Uncle Al will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews: Bobby Burns (Emma Jean), Janice Burk (Jerry), Nancy Aronson (Don), Barbara Burns, Glennice Snyder (Jeff), Duncan Burns (Mary), Becky Colby (Mike), Tim Burns (Rebecca), Dean Burns (Lisa) and Paul Burns (Kathy). Fondly remembered by many great nieces and nephews. Alex proudly served over seas for four years in the Second World War as a gunner in the 19th Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jack DeVries officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. for a memorial service for the late Alexander Burns.
