March 18, 1956- April 10, 2024

Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the age of 68. Cherished wife of Kenneth, with whom she shared 48 wonderful years. Beloved Mom of Jill (Mike) Burgess-Megler and Mitchel Burgess. Dear Tutu and Grandma of Juliana, Joseph, Mikenna, Everett. Daughter of the late Jean, Laurent and Adeline (nee Luciani) Litalien. Sister of Ronald (Stacey) Litalien and Michael (Tanis) Litalien. Sister-in-law of Steve (Maria) Burgess, Nancy (late Bert) Peters, Brian (Kathy) Burgess and Donna (Nello) Sartor. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends around the world.

Darlene was an avid nature lover and enjoyed spending her time outside. She had a soft spot for all living creatures and would go out of her way to make their lives better. Darlene had made friends all over the world after discovering her passion for saving the monarch butterfly.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ken. In 2001, together they packed up their lives and moved to Maui, Hawaii, where they spent 9 years. She immersed herself into their way of living by learning their culture.

Darlene lived her life to the fullest. In everything she did, she went all in. From her love of nature, her friends, her pets, and especially, her family.

In keeping with Darlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Reid Funeral Home Leamington (14 Russell St. 519-326-2631).
